BB60C/VSG60A RF Analyser/Vector Signal Generator

I. BB60C - 6 GHz Real Time Spectrum Acquisition Analyser

-->The Signal Hound BB60C Real-Time RF Spectrum Analyser and Recorder is a 9 kHz to 6 GHz spectrum analyser and RF recorder with an instantaneous bandwidth of 27 MHz and a sweep speed of 24 GHz / sec.

-->The BB60C Real-Time RF Spectrum Analyser and RF Recorder is a new addition to the Signal Hound family of products and successor to the BB60A.

-->The BB60C utilises USB 3.0 to digitise RF transfers to your PC at 140 MB/sec, delivering an instantaneous bandwidth of 27 MHz and a scanning speed of 24 GHz/sec.

-->The BB60C also adds the new feature of configurable I / Q streaming bandwidths that will be used retroactively on the BB60A.

--> As a spectrum analyser, our proprietary Application Programming Interface (API) can perform up to 1.2 million FFT spectra or 3.2 million FFT points per second, delivering real-time spectrum data to our open-source Graphical User Interface (GUI) or your own software application. Due to these huge processing requirements, we recommend a desktop PC with an Intel quad-core i7-2600 or higher, or a laptop with an i7-3612QM or higher.

--> The BB60C is ideally suited as an RF recorder. Variable I/Q sampling rate allows fine-grained control over how much spectrum should be recorded. The data rate can be selected from 312.5k to 40MSamples/sec I/Q with a configurable bandpass filter.

--> Our Spike spectrum analysis software features a 2D waterfall or 3D topology view, as well as a GPU-accelerated colour persistence display. It is easy to see undetectable interference in this mode. Turn on the afterglow display mode to see what you are missing!

--> If your application requires GPS timestamping of streaming RF data, the BB60C supports a 1-pulse-per-second (1-PPS) input that provides 50ns (4 samples) timing accuracy.

-->Features:1)RF frequency range from 9 kHz to 6 GHz.
2)Sweep speed up to 24 GHz / s (≥10 kHz RBW)
3)Wide dynamic range -158 dBm to +10 dBm.
4)Resolution bandwidth from 10 Hz to 10 MHz.
5)Power supply via USB only, no external power supply required.
6)Powerful digital signal processing occurs on a personal computer.
7)Includes both software and hardware for a great price/performance ratio.
8)Develop your own applications using our API (Application Programming Interface).
9)Get started quickly by customising the included open source GUI.
10)Digitised IF data at 80 million samples per second.
11)27 MHz instantaneous bandwidth.
12)Compatible with Windows 7/8/10 64-bit operating systems.
13)USB 3.0 communication provides 140 MB/sec sustained throughput for PC.

II.VSG25A/VSG60A Vector Signal Generator

--> features a 12-bit I / Q baseband arbitrary waveform generator that can be clocked at any frequency from 54 kHz to 180 MHz and includes a 4096 x 16-bit pattern buffer for built-in or custom modulation.

The included software generates it automatically:

CW: 100 MHz to 2.5 GHz, -40 dBm to +10 dBm
--> unspecified operation down to 80 MHz, or -70 dBm to +13 dBm
AM/FM: 30 Hz to 40 MHz modulation rate, sine, triangle, square, ramp
Pulse: 6 ns to 25 ms width, 12 ns to 1 second period
Multitone: selectable multitone height up to 1023 tones
-->Noise-to-power ratio test using random phase + trap
-->Use parabolic phase to get good signal/noise
PSK: BPSK, DBPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, DQPSK, π/ 4 DQPSK, 8-PSK, D8PSK, 16-PSK
-->4k to 45M symbols per second
-->Selectable ascending cosine, root ascending cosine filtering
-->Up to 512 symbols, cyclic continuous stream transmission
-->Binary symbol editor with one-button insertion of PN7 / PN9 sequences
QAM: QAM-16, QAM-64, QAM-256 (same function as PSK)
ASK / FSK: 4k to 45M symbols per second
--> Optional Gaussian filtering

--> Up to 512 symbols, cyclic continuous stream transmission sweeps
Arbitrary custom modulation
-->Load CSV file using I and Q values to specify centre frequency, amplitude, pattern length (up to 2048), pattern period (up to 65535) and clock frequency.
The VSG25A vector signal generator does have some limitations. The pattern buffer is small and cannot be upgraded. There is no reconstruction filter on the I / Q baseband, resulting in out-of-band parasitic signals, and there is a 2.7 GHz low-pass filter on the RF output, so 3rd harmonics below 3.6 GHz may need to be filtered externally. If none of this works for you, the VSG25A is an unbeatable value.
